DOCUMENT CONTROL SPECIALIST

The Document Control Specialist/Drafter is responsible for the maintenance of existing drawings, Bill of Materials and maintenance of the Expandable database. Good communication skills, excellent process adherence, detail oriented person. Experience with major CAD package (SolidWorks) is a must and high level skills in MS Excel.  This position reports directly to Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Secure and maintain product specific business data.
  • Turn ECR into ECO through Standard Operation Procedure.
  • Input and file Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR’S and ECO’s), Build of Authorization and other engineering and production release documentations.
  • Acts as a gatekeeper to all new items being loaded into Expandable. Manage parts lists and BOM’s
  • Loads new item setup information into Expandable, including new items/part numbers, bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Maintains and Analyze data using high level Excel functions or MS Access.  Lumenergi will provide training for ERP system for all Engineering and Production files access.
  • Responsible for processing engineered designs for manufacturers, creating and designing custom made parts using CAD techniques, and developing accurate layouts, assembly drawings, and bills of material for construction of product.
  • Follows good design practices of form, fit and function on all designs and comply with industry expected levels of quality.
  • Performs other engineering/production duties as defined by manager. Example, request for quotation (RFQ), Liaison with supplier or manufacturers for OEM/ODM.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree from technical institute or equivalent work experience is required, general drafting practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years with 2D and 3D drafting (SolidWorks preferred) experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of business database/ERP systems. Experience in Expandable is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in business software (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information in verbal, written and electronic form to internal and external contacts is required.
  • General knowledge of design methods, reading schematics and basic engineering skills is required.
